My Physical Transformation - what I learnt from my weight training to bring to Life Coaching

Updated: Sep 9

I underwent a major body transformation from 2023 - 2025. I trained myself at the gym, and stuck to my own diet plan. This was my journey, and this is what I learnt..

The picture on the left - me at 86kg, doing little exercise, over eating & drinking...basically not the healthiest person in the world.

The picture on the right - 71kg, gym 5 times a week + run club, healthy diet & sober - a pretty healthy person if you ask me.

Pretty drastic change huh? Well, the good news is I'm not selling you another online fitness course that 'guarantees' results...Nope, the good news is I'm showing you that you can make drastic life changes all by yourself.

Now it did take me 2 years...but the point is we all have the power to change, it's just the time it takes for us to get there that differs. I could have got a personal trainer & nutritionist to get me there in 3-6 months (I had paid for a personal trainer post lockdown which worked well) but I wanted to do this myself. I wanted to test myself fully, with no help, so I could know myself inside out, and learn how to overcome my obstacles so I had that power for the future.

Here are some things that helped me along the way:

  • I visualised my goal - I remembered what it felt like to be in better physical shape and all the positive benefits that came with it. I also remembered how much I loved weight training and the pride it gave me. I used these feelings to help me visualise achieving my goal each week, which kept me motivated.

  • I prioritised gym & diet - You can tell what your real priorities are by what you spend your time doing. I said gym & diet were my top priority, and for most weeks it was. I would say no to social plans to make time for the gym, I'd say no to eating out or order the chicken to stick to my diet. I had to be strict. I had to live my priorities to get the outcomes I wanted.

  • I celebrated my wins - each day that I went to the gym and stuck to my diet, I would put a green tick next to it in my weekly planner, and I would celebrate it in my journal. This along with seeing progress in the mirror, helped fuel my motivation.

If you want to find out more or want more help making consistent change to improve your health, then feel free to book a call in with me. Worst case, I'll share a little diet hack that massively helped me ;)
